Classic 107: Virtuosi Young Artist Miona Milovanovic on Morning Light

The Virtuosi Young Artist program provides scholarship prize money to burgeoning musicians as well as the opportunity to share their talents with a dedicated and supportive audience. The limited spots are awarded following a series of auditions.
“Getting that email, hearing that I’ll get to play and open a concert this season, I was just very, very happy,” says Milovanovic.
After previously auditioning without success, the now third-year University of Manitoba Desautels Faculty of Music violinist was determined to come back better.
“That was one of those moments where I was like ‘ OK. I’m going to work hard and this is something I’m going to work towards,’” she says.
Milovanovic will perform the “Adagio” from Bach’s Violin Sonata No. 1 in G minor, BWV 1001.
