Bree Cruise hopes that during Indigenous History Month, people will want to learn. She says June is only one of twelve months in which she believes learning about Indigenous history and culture should happen. "Learning can happen all times of the year, any time of the day," says Cruise. "We need to continue this learning every month of every year."

As an object and pastime that has been adopted and appropriated by settler Canadians as a national symbol, Taylor makes it clear there is a debt owed to Indigenous people for this appropriation.

Asper community remembers Peter Cooney, beloved instructor of accounting

The Asper School of Business community mourns the loss of former instructor of accounting and alumnus, Peter Cooney [BComm/70, MBA/79]. Cooney passed away on January 18, 2024, with community members quickly reaching out to share their memories of his time as a student in the 1970s and his instruction in the department of accounting and finance from 1978 to 1999.
