September 30, 2019 —

Registration for the annual Undergraduate Research Poster Competition are now open. This is an opportunity for undergraduate students who have participated in research to showcase and present the work they have conducted with their advisors over the past year.

We caught up with some past participants in last year’s competition, to give you a sense of why you should consider entering.

Top 5 reasons to enter the Undergrad Research Poster Competition:

1. Network and meet people in your field.

2. Improve your communication skills – talking about the cool work you’re doing builds confidence.

3. Learning how to make a poster!

4. Showing off your hard work and getting feedback (and different perspectives) from multiple people.

5. Winning is fun, rewarding and $$$ ! Oh, and there are cookies!

Cash prizes are awarded to the top three posters in categories of: applied sciences, creative works, health sciences, natural sciences and social sciences/humanities.

Deadline to enter the competition is Oct. 11, 4 PM. The competition takes place Oct. 24, 1-4 PM in UMSU University Centre.
