Bison Football makes history…again!

October 28, 2013 —

On Friday, November 1 at 7 p.m., the University of Manitoba Bison Football team will rewrite the record book once again as they rumble onto home turf to host the first post-season game ever at Investors Group Field.

With a resounding clutch road win over the Alberta Golden Bears (60-18) this past Saturday, the Bison team clinched second place in Canada West. Their 5-3 record gives them rights to home field advantage against the Saskatchewan Huskies, who also finished at 5-3 on the season but lost to the Bisons in Saskatoon on October 18.

Friday night’s game under the lights at Investors Group Field is one of two Canada West semi-final games and the first playoff game hosted by the Bisons since the 2007 Vanier Cup Championship season.

“We are very proud to secure second place and now host a playoff game in the first season of Investors Group Field,” Bison Football head coach Brian Dobie stated after the victory in Edmonton. “The first year of a stadium comes only once and it was a goal of ours to be able to play a post-season game at home this season.”

Dobie’s team made history when they kicked off their season on August 30 against the Golden Bears in front of 10,000 roaring fans and went on to claim the first win as a home team at Investors Group Field.

Tickets for Friday’s game are available at all Ticketmaster locations, online at Ticketmaster.ca or by calling 1-855-985-5000.  Ticket prices are: Adult $17; Student/Senior $10; Children 6 & under are free.
