July 28, 2025 —  After having been promoted from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor in the Faculty of Law as of March 30, 2025, Brandon Trask officially received Tenure at the University of Manitoba as of July 1. The significance of this rite of passage for junior faculty members may be lost on most students, but it matters in the grand scheme of things to faculty members, staff, their relationship with the union and the university and, ultimately, to their students, regardless of how dull an administrative function it seems.
