Lifetime Achievement

The Punjab Commerce and Management Association (PCMA) has conferred a Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr. C.R. Bector, a professor emeritus in Business Administration at the University of Manitoba’s Asper School of Business. The award honours Bector’s research work and contribution to the field of management science.

The award was presented to Bector at the 11th annual PCMA International Conference at Multani Mal Modi College in Patiala, India. Bector earned his PhD at the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur. He joined the Asper School as an associate professor in 1970, and became a full-time professor in 1974. He was appointed professor emeritus in 2005.

When Lily Francis is presenting a case in competition, something clicks into place, and suddenly it’s just her and the judges. She isn’t thinking about the hours of practice and case preparation; she isn’t worried about being “too much” (a holdover from a lifetime of being a big talker); she isn’t fixated on the ideas that didn’t make the cut; and she isn’t second-guessing her delivery. No, as Francis puts it, when she is presenting, everything else goes away.
