Indigenous art exhibition opens Oct. 30 at the School of Art Gallery

October 29, 2024 — 

On Oct. 30, the UM community is invited to attend the opening of the “Awakening Spirit” exhibition, part of the Indigenous Student Led Indigenous Art Purchase Program.

What: Awakening Spirit: Recent Acquisitions from the Indigenous Student Led Indigenous Art Purchase Program 2023-2024
Opening Reception: Oct. 30, 2024
Time:  3:30-5:30 p.m., short welcome program at 4:00 p.m.
Where: Collections Gallery, School of Art Gallery, ARTlab (180 Dafoe Rd)

Light refreshments will be provided.

Hosted by the University Art Collection. The University Art Collection places artworks in public and semi-public areas, as well as offices on campus. Some of the artworks on display are available for placement.

This program and exhibition are made possible by the support the Office of the Vice-President (Indigenous) though the Indigenous Initiatives Fund.

Space and support for this exhibition are provided by the School of Art Gallery.

The exhibition runs from Oct. 30 to Nov. 22, 2024.
