August 1, 2016 —
Welcome to ‘Trending’, where each week we share a few things to watch for on social media.
Hello August! Summer is flying by and we’re all enjoying the last long weekend of the season. A reminder that the University is closed Monday, August 1st for Terry Fox Day and will reopen on Tuesday.
Here’s what’s we’re talking about on social media this week:
- Our favourite Instagram pic this week needs no real introduction…campus + rainbows = pure photo magic! Don’t forget to tag your photo #umanitoba for a chance to be featured right here.
- Registration has begun and back to school is just around the corner. Be sure to check out our #firstyearplanning for tips, handy resources and help getting prepared for a successful September.
- The world will be tuning in to Brazil on August 5th for the kick-off of the 2016 Summer Olympics. Follow the games at #rio2016 to cheer on our homegrown competitors. Watch for our special In Focus featuring #UMExpert insight into issues affecting the games and athletes.
- The world’s largest and longest running multicultural festival is in full swing this week in Winnipeg. Share your Folkorama pavilion travels and see the world at #folklorama47.
As always, join us and the rest of our community talking about the U of M by following #umanitoba on Twitter and Instagram.
