The Free Press: $4.5M for law school bursaries
The Manitoba Law Foundation is providing a $4.5-million grant for three bursaries benefitting some people seeking careers in the field.
The bursaries are for students seeking to study, or already studying, law at the University of Manitoba.
One is intended to encourage more First Nations, Inuit and Métis people to join the field. Another is intended for members of the Black community or other underrepresented groups. The other is earmarked for people committed to “advancing access to justice” in northern, remote and rural areas of Manitoba.
