A new, non-credit course is now available for students looking to gain essential knowledge and practical skills on how to use artificial intelligence (AI) responsibly in their studies and career.
The online course was developed by the Digital Education Council, a global community of practice for education innovation.
Students will be introduced to core concepts of AI, including:
- Foundations of AI technologies
- Best practices for prompting and evaluating AI output
- Academic integrity in the age of AI
- Ethics, safety and responsible AI use
- Future workforce skills influenced by AI
It also features guest interviews with global AI experts, offering real-world perspectives from industry leaders at Deloitte, IBM and other major organizations.
Students can self-register for the course on UM Learn.
Once registered, students will have access to the self-paced course materials for 90 days and should set aside about four hours to complete the entire course. Upon completion, students will receive a certificate and a shareable digital badge.
