For the first time, the UM First Year Centre is introducing Summer Welcome — a day of online programming to orient you to the University of Manitoba and help prepare you for your first year.

September 22, 2020 — 
Although COVID-19 has transformed the university experience, students starting their first year at UM this fall are confident and prepared thanks to UM’s First Year Experience: a series of new online initiatives aimed at readying them for university life.

September 1, 2020 — 
The Registrar’s Office is making it easier than ever for students to get their Student ID cards. Due to the temporary closure of some in-person services on campus, Student ID cards will be available for request online through Aurora! Once you have registered for courses, you are eligible to receive a University of Manitoba Student ID card. This ID card can be used to access many services and benefits available to students.

August 26, 2020 — 
Congratulations, you’re about to start your first year at the University of Manitoba! Let’s kick off the school year together, with a couple of exciting online events. These will be great opportunities to learn the ropes, put some faces to names, and begin to build your community.

We want to ensure that you start university confident and secure that you’re going to do your best.
