Lets talk health: Ask your questions and hear what the experts have to say

February 19, 2014 —

MedTalks, the interactive series of stimulating and interactive public lectures by acclaimed University of Manitoba Faculty of Medicine professors, is set to launch its seventh and most exciting season yet.

Each MedTalks has a different and important theme. The first night launches with a timely lecture focused on Blood Vessels and Health, and will feature a presentation on “Raynauds Disease: Taking the Chill out your Fingers and Toes” by Dr. Asad Junaid. The second lecture of the evening will cover treatment options for acute stroke management, by Dr. Simel Bal.

Other topics throughout the six-week series include:

    • Treating Autism: Can social media help?
    • Living with ADHD
    • Physician Assisted Death
    • Sleep hygiene
    • SADS
    • Celiac Disease
    • Weight-Loss Surgery
    • Concussions  & Hockey Injuries
    • Food Allergies

“It is rare that the general public has the access and opportunity to hear from and engage with world-class medical professionals on health issues that matter to them,” says Dr. Jeff Sisler, Associate Dean, Continuing Professional Development, Faculty of Medicine, University of Manitoba. “By the end of the series, people will gain more insight into health care for their brain and body – and be able to share those lessons and insight with others.”

I can”t attend any of the lectures as I am out of town all winter. I’m interested in 4 of the lectures. The first one on Reynaud”s, the one on sleep hygiene, the one on celiac disease, and the one onfood allergies. Is it possible to have access to a video or a transcrpt of these lectures. I am willing to pay for the privilege.
