Developing Your Summer 2020 Remote Learning Course 

The Centre, in collaboration with the Manitoba Flexible Learning HUB, has developed an array of materials and tutorials to help you prepare for and teach your Summer 2020 remote learning course. Topics include:

  • Teaching an Online or Remote Course
  • Readiness to Teach Survey and Customized Support Tool
  • How to Teach Synchronously with Webex (Mac and PC versions)
  • How to Learn Online
  • Framework Courses (Science, Humanities, Other)
  • How to use a Framework Course – a Video Series
  • How to use a Framework Course – one-hour workshops coming soon

Teaching Remotely: The Basics

The objective of this session is to highlight similarities, differences, and challenges encountered when transitioning from teaching face-to-face to online, including guidance towards further resources and support.

Teaching Remotely: Establishing and Maintaining Student Motivation and Engagement

This session will begin with a brief presentation of strategies to establish and maintain student motivation and engagement throughout your remote course, followed by an open discussion led by attendees.

Integrity Coffee Hour

A weekly facilitated discussion, to explore a variety of topics in academic integrity in online/remote teaching and learning, including the meaning of academic integrity, strategies for promoting academic integrity, and successes and challenges in the era of COVID-19.

Supporting International Students During the COVID-19 Outbreak

The focus of this workshop is to help our teaching community support international students build on their existing strengths and manage the many unique challenges that they are facing during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Supporting Indigenous Students in Remote Learning Environments

In this one hour workshop we will discuss some of the barriers Indigenous students at the U of M are experiencing in remote learning and ways instructors can address these concerns.
