I would like to know what will happen to Bistro 204. That restaurant really filled a niche in the university community.

Thanks for your comment. We have forwarded your question to Food Services and will post their response when it is received.

Bistro 205 will be a meeting and/or event room moving forward that can be booked through conference and catering for various occasions. Although the restaurant was a very attractive setting for lunch, it is not a sustainable business model.
    Thank you.

So where can we take job applicants and visitors from other universities for a quiet lunch – quiet enough so you can hear what others are saying, for example? Show them what a good place the U of M is to work at. There doesn’t seem to be anywhere on campus.

I have complained about this before. What I want to know is why was the Bistro run to fail? Why was it not advertized better, why was the website not kept up to date with days open/closed, menus, etc, why wasn’t the location made more obvious, why did the service become unreliable? And who would have wandered in if they didn’t already know about it?? It was run like it was a secret society, and then lo and behold it didn’t make money! We need a place on campus that is quiet where we can take visitors, special lecturers, donors, family, etc. It’s no use saying go off campus because the turn-around is too long. That’s my two bits!
