Funding for Fetal Alcohol Research Consortium to be announced

The Honourable Kevin Chief, Minister, Manitoba Children and Youth Opportunities, will announce new funding from Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries, to the University of Manitoba for the Canada Israel International Fetal Alcohol Consortium (CIIFAC).  The CIIFAC is a partnership established by the Province of Manitoba and the Canadian Friends of Hebrew University (CFHU) which focuses on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder (FASD) research.

When: Tuesday, May 27, 2014, 11:30 a.m.
Where: Brodie Centre Atrium, University of Manitoba Bannatyne Campus, 727 McDermot Avenue

A tour of the Regenerative Medicine Program Laboratories, where some of the FASD research is already underway, will occur immediately following photo opportunities. Media will be invited to attend the tour which will include a stop at the stem cell research lab.
