Centre for Creative Writing and Oral Culture Writer-In-Residence welcome event
Meet UM’s newest Writer-In-Residence, bestselling author and award-winning Métis writer Katherena Vermette and hear her inaugural reading at this welcome event. Vermette, who won the Governor General’s Literary Award for Poetry in 2013 for her first book North End Love Songs, writes across genres from fiction, poetry and graphic novels. Her novel The Break was the fall 2020 selection for the UM Alumni Book Club. Aspiring writers may also register for a 6-week writing workshop with Vermette that runs February 24-March 31 or book an individual writing consultation with the author.
