CTV Winnipeg: Meet the 12 Manitobans set to receive the Order of Manitoba

Making up the new class are a number of community advocates; Glen Kruck, who worked to create long-term, sustainable housing for the homeless through his 35-year career with Community Health and Housing in Brandon; Trudy Lavallee, a former Manitoba Chiefs child and family advocate who developed the concept for Jordan’s Principle; Marion Willis, creator and operator of St. Boniface Street Links; and J. Kenneth Paupanekis, an Elder of the Kinosao Sipi Cree Nation.

Some of the province’s greatest scientific minds are among the new group as well, like engineer and world-renowned grain scientist Dr. Digvir Jayas, and Dr. Gordon Giesbrecht, a.k.a. Professor Popsicle – a world leader in the study and treatment of hypothermia and drowning prevention.
