Your invitation to New Faculty Orientation

July 4, 2017 —

The Centre for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning (The Centre) through the office of the Vice-Provost (Academic Affairs) is hosting the annual New Faculty Orientation, to be held on July 11 and 12, 2017.

New faculty members are invited to attend this event, where they will meet new colleagues and learn more about the University and the supports and resources available.

The theme for our two-day orientation is, “Igniting Your Journey.” It will consist of concurrent sessions on topics related to teaching, research and service; information booths from key departments, services and units at the U of M; a panel discussion with newer faculty members who started a year or two ago and who will share their experiences of life at the university and in Winnipeg; a keynote speaker who will present their perspective on what you need to know as new faculty member — and more.

The orientation will introduce you to a “Community of Practice” that will support you throughout your first five years at the University of Manitoba. These two exciting days are filled with opportunities for networking and navigating your journey at the University of Manitoba.
