Welcome reception for Mr. Peter Mwaura

June 23, 2014 —

The University of Manitoba has established a new non-governmental organization (NGO) in Kenya, East Africa, called Partners for Health and Development in Africa (PHDA). It will provide support to UM interests and engagement in Kenya and the region. As an NGO, PHDA will enable U of M to have more latitude to work with different organisations and institutions, apply for new grants, bid for consultancies and expand our services to engage a widening scope of U of M faculty members, staff and students.

The PHDA Board at the University of Manitoba would like to introduce you to Mr. Peter Mwaura, who joined us on May 12 as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PHDA in Kenya. He will travel to Manitoba in mid-June to meet with academic and administrative units and to get to know our university, and to provide opportunity for individuals here to learn of the new opportunities afforded to members of our UM community through Peter and his team.
