U of M prof adds Amazon Prime film producer to his credits

June 10, 2019 —

Aside from being a chiropractor and noted expert in perceptual motor behaviour, Dr. Steven Passmore is also a writer/producer of three short films.

His latest, Sue Aside, is now streaming on Amazon Prime in the US.

Passmore is an associate professor in the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management.

Dr. Steven Passmore

As a licensed clinician he practiced for two years in a hospital setting as a WOC Chiropractor in the United States Veterans Health Administration, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Buffalo, NY.

The film is inspired by actual patient encounters Passmore had while working as a chiropractor at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where he frequently treated veterans from conflicts including WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Sue Aside is about a Canadian war veteran who struggles to return to his fragmented civilian life following combat experience. Faced with depression, alcoholism, and survivor’s guilt he believes his life cannot get any worse, and takes drastic measures.
