Nominate staff for awards of excellence

Recognize and celebrate staff achievement; nominations due April 5

February 26, 2019 —

Do you know a staff member who does a great job coordinating university programs and services? Or a staffer who starts the workday by doing an outstanding job of cleaning the university’s hallways and shared spaces? All staff in service, support and administrative roles are eligible for an award to recognize excellence in their work; nominations are due April 5.

Any faculty and staff member can nominate a peer, colleague, team or someone who provides exceptional service.

This year, there will be one award category called the Award of Excellence with multiple opportunities to celebrate the wide range of accomplishments of U of M support staff. There is also a President’s Award, which recognizes special service to the university. All nominees for an Award of Excellence will automatically be considered for this award.

The Awards of Excellence provide a wonderful opportunity to recognize the amazing contributions made by members of our support staff across the university, says Mark O’Riley, director, learning and organizational development, human resources, adding that it’s worthwhile celebrating our colleagues’ fantastic work.

As in years previous, all recipients and nominators will be invited to a fun celebration held on June 27.

“These types of events enhance our culture of leadership and teamwork,” says O’Riley.

“Join us by nominating a staff member who builds up our outstanding work and learning environment.”

Nominations are due April 5. For more information about the awards and the nomination process, visit the Awards of Excellence website, or email AwardsofExcellence [at] umanitoba [dot] ca
