An endowment fund has been established at the University of Manitoba, with an initial contribution of $250,000 from the President's Fund, to support graduate students writing a thesis in any area of human genetics. One annual scholarship will be offered to a student who:
1. is enrolled full-time in the Faculty of Graduate Studies in either the second year of any Master program or the third or fourth year of any Doctoral program
2. has achieved a minimum degree grade point average of 3.5 (or equivalent) based on the last 60 credit hours of study
3. is writing a thesis in any area of human genetics
4. is in good standing in his/her degree program.
The award in not automatically renewable for Doctoral students but previous recipients may apply. The maximum number of Scholarships one student may hold in his or her lifetime is two (2). Recipients may hold the President's Graduate Scholarship in Human Genetics concurrently with any other awards, consistent with policies in the Faculty of Graduate Studies. |

Applicants are required to submit the online application. The application includes a current transcript (web transcripts acceptable), a description of the proposed or ongoing research (500 word max), and two academic letters of reference from professors at a post-secondary institution.
