Lisa O’Hara

Ms. Lisa O’Hara, an accomplished librarian and researcher, has been appointed acting university librarian effective October 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019. Since 2002, Ms. O’Hara has held various positions at the University of Manitoba Libraries, including associate university librarian (research support services) and head of both its technical and discovery and delivery service areas. Throughout her tenure as a Librarian, she has assessed and transformed the ways in which information is discovered and accessed in print and digital formats. These technological transformations have supported the work of faculty and enhanced the experience of students.

She has also served our community through the Senate Libraries Committee, the Administrative Services Information Technology Governance Committee, the Joint Faculty Research Ethics Board and the University’s Métis Working Group. As well, Ms. O’Hara has made herself an invaluable part of our broader community through her involvement in the Association of Research Libraries and its Social Justice Project, and the OCLC Global Council – a global library cooperative. The University of Manitoba thanks Ms. O’Hara for her continued dedication to academic administration and to the preservation and sharing of knowledge.
