Visionary Conversations in the Community – what should Manitobans expect and who should pay?

February 24, 2016 —

Are you someone who loves exploring tough questions on diverse, fascinating topics? Have you ever wanted to hear directly from experts on issues that matter to you? Visionary Conversations in the Community is your chance to ask questions of “those in the know.” On Wednesday, February 24, 2016, Visionary Conversations in the Community again brings the University of Manitoba’s award-winning series of open discussions to the centrally-located Winnipeg Art Gallery in downtown Winnipeg.

This month, the topic is post-secondary education. Are students getting their money’s worth? Is the post-secondary system meeting the needs of employers? Who should fund higher education – and why? Join us as President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. David T. Barnard hosts this exciting event, joined by his colleagues and student leaders in post-secondary education. The panelists are invested in and knowledgeable about these issues and will respond to audience questions about the value and quality of university and college education.

President Barnard invites everyone in the community to attend, and welcomes participation in the conversation. The evening promises an engaging, lively discussion on an issue of importance to all Manitobans.

Featured panelists this month include three presidents of post-secondary institutions in Manitoba, plus representatives from student organizations, education and the business community.
