David Barnard accepts the ice bucket challenge

August 27, 2014 —

University of Manitoba president and vice-chancellor David Barnard accepts the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge from UMSU president Al Turnbull, and his daughter Rasna Madhur, and challenges fellow Winnipeg university presidents Annette Trimbee (University of Winnipeg), Cheryl Pauls (Canadian Mennonite University), and Gabor Csepregi (Université de Saint-Boniface).

The University of Manitoba is actively engaged in ALS research. Last year a team of researchers in the Manitoba Institute of Cell Biology and the Regenerative Medicine Program at the U of M made an important discovery that could lead to new treatments for ALS. Read more about it on UM Today.
