Freedman Crescent, Pembina Hwy at Southpark Drive affected

September 6, 2016 —

Outlined below are construction areas that may cause delays to and from campus. The enclosed map also highlights these construction areas. Your patience and cooperation to ensure everyone’s safety are appreciated.

Freedman Crescent and Service Street 3 S.

Access along Freedman Crescent and Service Street 3 S. will be periodically impacted this Fall. Freedman Crescent between King’s Drive and MacLean Crescent will be limited to one way traffic eastbound. Occasional delays should be anticipated.

This is due to University of Manitoba construction projects that will upgrade storm sewer lines and water main infrastructure.

Barricades and safety signage are clearly posted to safely direct pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles as required. Caution should be taken at all times during construction.

Expect Delays: Periodic lane closures along University Crescent, Pembina Highway at Southpark Drive, and Markham Road can be expected throughout construction of  the Southwest Rapid Transitway starting this September and continuing until Spring 2017. Delays should be anticipated and we recommend everyone take caution in these areas.

The City of Winnipeg is undertaking construction of the Southwest Rapid Transitway that runs from Pembina Hwy at Southpark Drive, south through Southwood Lands to Investors Group Field.

Access to Southwood Lands will be maintained around the construction zone, but users should take caution in and around the construction area. Pedestrian and bicycle traffic through Southwood Lands (north and south of Markham Rd.) will be slightly impacted throughout construction.

Barricades and safety signage will be clearly posted to safely direct all users.

During event days, extra precautions and site securement measures will be taken.
