Celebrating our Spring 2019 Asper grads

Congratulations to all the Asper graduates receiving degrees this spring. No matter where you go from here, you have the skills, and vision you need to make a difference in the global world of business. We are proud of your accomplishments!

On Tuesday, June 4, at the University of Manitoba’s 140^th Spring Convocation, 316 Asper students officially graduated and became members of the Asper alumni community. All three levels of postgraduate study were represented at convocation: bachelor’s (283), master’s (31) and PhD (2).

Associates Fellow in finance explores race, gender and neurodivergence and financial outcomes

Asper associate professor and The Associates Fellow in Finance, Chi Liao is an expert in behavioural finance, engaging with datasets and psychology, sociology and other social sciences to tackle these questions. She seeks to understand how broader social phenomena affect individual behaviours in financial decision-making and ultimately financial outcomes.

The Associates of the Asper School of Business invite UM students to meet one of Manitoba’s most influential business leaders and one of UM’s most dedicated alumni. On May 30, 2024, Gerry Price [BSc/70, MSc/72, LLD/17], the 2024 International Distinguished Entrepreneur Award (IDEA) recipient, will share his impressive career journey, followed by a Q&A facilitated by the Asper School of Business Commerce Student’s Association President, Melani Fernando.

BComm Spotlight

Asper BComm student Gilbert Eretchabor is currently working hard to revitalize the University of Manitoba Supply Chain Organization (UMSCO) as president and is a passionate advocate for the field. Supply chain isn’t something that Eretchabor pursued from the start of his degree, but some cogent advice from the Dean helped him see his future (and his past) in supply chain.
