Bisons looking to capitalize on home-ice

Men’s hockey begin battle with Cougars in week-one Canada West playoff series

February 14, 2018 —

After ending their season on a 5-2 run, the Bison men’s hockey team is ready to glide into the post-season this weekend at the Wayne Fleming Arena.  The Canada West third place Bisons will face off against number six Mount Royal Cougars in a best-of-three series that runs Friday, Feb. 16, and Saturday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. with the third game being played Sunday, if necessary, at 6 p.m..

The teams split their last regular season match up at Mount Royal so the Bisons are looking forward to bringing the post-season back to U of M. With an impressive 11-3 regular-season home record, the brown and gold seem to be in full command of their home-ice play.

The winner of this weekend’s series will move on to the Canada West semi-final against either number one Alberta or number two Saskatchewan.

Playoff tickets will be sold at the door for $12 (adults) while UM students and fans under 17 get in free.
